Time travel with 120 people

For several years now, we have been working with Atlas Copco, a manufacturer and service provider of industrial machinery, tools and equipment. Every year the company presents its employees with an exciting, themed team-building event, and this year was no different. The theme and the backstory around it was incredibly exciting, and the company celebrated its 150th anniversary this year, so it was only natural that we had to sneak it into the story somehow.

The concept was that the employees were trapped in a time machine that threw each team back to a different era over the last 150 years. The task was simple, yet challenging: each team had to collect samples of that era, study them and use them to get back to the present.

Inventors, fun vehicles, fashion design and a watery quest

We love team-builders where the client wants something completely new and unique. In these cases, we are given complete freedom and it's up to our creativity what unique stations we come up with. Of course, we brainstorm with the company, as our goal is to be able to meet all their ideas.

This is how a complete team-building game with 10 stations was born, which keeps its players on the move and alert throughout. Among other things, the teams had to go through an obstacle course in period vehicles. To make things more difficult, some bikes worked upside down and some had one wheel much bigger than the other. Those who preferred to exercise their brains had the chance to create a poem about the company using period words or to create a piece of clothing from the era using crepe paper and other tools. They could trade coins of the period and, in view of the heat, a water station was included in the games, which many took advantage of to take a dip in the pool.

Each of the games catered for a different type of participant, but one thing was common to all the stations: fun and team spirit. The programme ended in the evening with a rousing karaoke party and dancing until dawn.
